Old Cats U14 vs Chobham

After the mismatch of Wimbledon in the previous week, the Old Cats team were looking for a competitive performance to help restore their confidence up again. This took them on the road to Chobham.

Individual spirits low the coaches did their best to build up the team spirit with a good warm up. Kick off and Old Cats came out 'guns blazing'. Strong defence holding their lines. However Old cats just could not get out of their own half for prolong periods, which then Chobham capitalised on. There was some great rugby from Old Cats in the first period of the first half and they again came back strongly in the last period of the second half. This effort gained plaudits from the opposition coaches. Never giving up, but alas victory went to Chobham. Old Cats, whilst gave a competitive performance, they could not keep up the intensity required for the full 60 minutes which would have been required to beet this talented Chobham side.

However there were some outstanding individual performances which really need to be applauded.

Josh D – His 'mojo' is back! Constantly breaking the Chobham lines and proving a real handful for the oppo.

Josh M-L – Really aggressive in the middle of the park. (He has grown - physically and as a rugby player)

Harry – Working tirelessly in the rucks pushing the oppo back.

Leo – Taking the match to Chobham.

Drew – New position for him for full back. Some awesome defensive work with try saving tackles.

Charlie – Like a fine bottle of wine, just gets better with age. Arguably his best performance in an Old Cats shirt.

Man of the match had to go to Seb though. Sterling performance in the first half, great tackles, always on the front foot, before he unfortunately had to come off with a slight knock.

Well done guys – performance is getting stronger, if we can keep the effort up for longer periods of the match then we will get our just deserts and results will favour us.
