A Victory that got away!
Old Cats hit the road again to play new opposition in Tonbridge, after a long walk we made it to the pitch.
Tonbridge started of the more aggressive off the team’s as per usual OC’s seemed to think they were still in the changing room. Weak tackling and TJ’s big centre makes ground and they are over under the posts.

Kick off and OC’s start to string some plays together, but cough the ball up in the tackle which TJs jump on its spun to the centre and OC’s are fast asleep the big centre walks through 2 tackles and scores under the posts, this looks like being a long day

TJ’s pile on the pressure, but OC’s start to make their tackles and the balls secured, Seb kicks ahead and follows up superbly, recovers his own kick in the air and makes it to TJ’s 5 meter line, OC’s recycle and win Harrison is over the line, TJs are deemed to have infringed illegally and Harrison is awarded a Penalty Try.

Unfortunately, OC’s are still patting themselves on the back and loos the ball from the kick off, TJs forwards pick and go, their backs pass the ball quickly down the line and the OCs defence is too narrow and the TJs centre is over in the corner.

Some harsh words under the post and OCs come out with some urgency, they start to hot the rucks and mauls, recycle the ball and Will makes a break and get inside TJs 22, where TJs infringe at the breakdown and OCs are awarded a penalty, Ross takes it quickly and off loads to Will who finishes superbly

There’s not long left and OC’s are still in the game, but TJs make some changes and bring on some fresh legs they start to bounce the ball from side to side and OC’s are again too slow to react and form up and TJs fly half makes and break, off loads and TJs score under the posts.

It was a great game, but OCs didn’t help themselves by starting the game fast asleep, gifting TJs 2 soft tries early on, they managed to pull it back and this is down to Ross leading the charge with some bruising tackles that inspired the rest of the team, this is a victory that got away
