Old Caterhamians Rugby Football Club
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Statement

Old Caterhamians Rugby Football Club (OCRFC) is fully committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of our activities. We believe that rugby should be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of background, identity, or ability, and we strive to create an environment in which every individual feels valued, respected, and able to participate fully.

Our Commitment

1. Inclusive Participation
We welcome players, coaches, volunteers, supporters, and families from all communities. No person shall be excluded or disadvantaged on the grounds of age, gender, gender identity, disability, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or belief, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or any other characteristic.

2. Equal Access to Opportunities
We aim to ensure that all individuals have fair and equal access to coaching, training, development, and leadership opportunities within the Club.

3. Respect and Positive Behaviour
We expect all members and visitors to uphold the RFU core values—Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, and Sportsmanship—and to treat each other with courtesy and dignity at all times.

4. Support for Underrepresented and At-Risk Groups
We actively encourage participation from individuals and groups who may traditionally face barriers to involvement in sport, including girls and young women, low-income families, neurodiverse young people, and those new to rugby or organised physical activity.

5. Safe and Welcoming Environment
The Club is committed to providing a safe, friendly, and inclusive atmosphere for children and adults. We follow all RFU safeguarding guidance and ensure coaches and volunteers are appropriately trained and DBS-checked.

6. Challenging Discrimination
We take any form of discrimination, bullying, harassment, or abusive behaviour seriously. Concerns will be addressed promptly in line with Club and RFU disciplinary procedures.

7. Continuous Improvement
We regularly review our policies, practices, and facilities to ensure they support equality and inclusion. We welcome feedback from our members and the wider community to help us improve.
