Sunday 25th September saw Old Cats go into round 2 of their Round Robin fixtures. This time we faced Sutton and Epsom.
This week the team were further reduced in numbers due to 3 late injuries, leaving the team to just 9 players.
Sutton and Epsom turned up with their full 18 strong squad ready for the fixture.
Once again to the credit of the Old Cats players they never considered not playing the match (which cannot be said for the coach).
Having pointed out the lack of players, Sutton and Epsom agreed to play us, 11 v 9. After all this was a competitive fixture!
Old Cats threw heart and soul into the game and every single player left nothing on the pitch. They tackled, supported, rucked and mauled better than they had ever done.
Sutton and Epsom ensured they met with the new Age Grade rules and every one of their players took the field at one time or another.
Final whistle......Old Cats 9 players 20.......Sutton and Epsom 18 players 10!
An outstanding performance by a very special bunch of players.
